North Dakota winters are challenging! From extreme cold weather to extreme wind - like I've heard say many times before, if you don't like the weather, stick around for 10 minutes, it will change!! It makes North Dakotans very tough and patient!

Sundays on the Happy Hour, you often hear the sound of the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra. KBMR Happy Hour has 12 of Jimmy Sturr's CDs and we love to play his national sound. His name is James W. "Jimmy " Sturr, Jr. His recordings have won 18 out of the 24 Grammy Awards given for Best Polka Album. When touring, the band rides in Jimmy's 45 foot customized tour bus, previously owned by Billy Ray Cyrus. During a 2013 performance in Connecticut, residents of New Britain's Little Poland district presented the entertainer with a plaque making him officially "A Little Polish."
