I was born in Turtle Lake ND – Lived in Washburn until the age of 5 or 6. We moved to Bismarck where I attended school. Graduated from St. Mary’s High. During the summer months, I would spend time at the Aichele and Geist farms south of Driscoll.
I became interested in music at a young age: I had an older sister and brother who always seemed to have a radio on, and also my mom and sister played piano and sang.
I worked for my father as a mechanic in town, (and my father’s shop radio played KBMR all day long). I also worked at the Village Inn Pizza Parlor until it closed, and the Kroll's Kitchen location on Main. (To this day, I’ve never had just one job. I’ve always had 1 full time and 1 or 2 part time jobs).
After graduation, joined the United States Army Reserves. Spent time in Ft. Dix NJ; Ft. Jackson, SC, and Ft. Sam Houston, TX. Was a cook/dietician. I was a member of the 311 Evacuation Hospital in Bismarck until my years of service were up.
When I came back to ND, I worked for my dad again as a mechanic and also spent 20+ years in retail management. For 4 Christmases, I worked at 2 of the local Radio Shack stores where I got interested in computers. The computer tech at Radio Shack and I opened a business called Computers, Rentals and More, which came to be known as ‘CRAM’.
I worked as a DJ at Dakota Lounge/Whiskey Point. Went on to DJ at Borrowed Bucks (where I still DJ the Colgate Country Showdown every year). Got hired on by Charlie Williams during the time I was at the Whiskey Point, and have worked here for 10+ years, loving every minute of it!
Married late in life as I liked to travel around the country whenever I wanted to (without having to get ‘permission’! lol) Married my wife on Sept 11, 1999. Have 2 great boys: Calvin and Zachary.
I now work for Midcontinent Cable doing residential and business installs. I still love listening to a variety of music, and I do all the cooking in my house. I love to water ski and snow ski.
Oh, I'm also a memeber of Cornerstone Community Church (and I'm also
the webmaster of their website/ cornerstonewesleyan.org). I'm also currently employed on a part time basis at Microfrontiers doing computer work, and at Hotsy Equipment Company where I set up and maintain the server, workstation computers and laptops for the salespeople.
In my spare time – when I have it – I like to work on and build computers. I also have a 1970 Chevelle SS that I am restoring, and am currently in the process of framing/sheetrocking/taping and mudding my basement.
