Summer time and music are a great combination to make your summer days full of smiles and sunshine! The Summer Concert Series at the Mandan Band Shell nightly at 7:30 Monday through Thursday are free for everyone to enjoy in a very pleasant setting. Many of the bands played during the Happy Hour appear in this familiar setting. Steelin' Country is a Bismarck based band and CD that is played on Sundays featuring the late Perry Hansen on steel guitar, Andy Wald on the accordion, Leon Wald on drums, and guitar player Randy Karr.
Join Randy Karr and various musicians as the band Steelin' Country takes the Mandan Band Shell stage on Thursday, July 7th. Randy does a great job with many familiar country tunes, but be sure to request the Rendezvous Waltz or the Red Raven Polka! Clarissa Lynn has strong roots in North Dakota coming from a small, family farm operation north of Stanton or just a little south of Pick City by the Lake Sakakawea area where she did more bale haulin' and cow milkin' than fishin'; however, Clarissa grew up in a musical family loving and learning to dance to old time and country music.
Clarissa graduated from Dickinson State with a two-year broadcasting degree and a major in Elementary Education, later completing an Elementary Master's Degree from Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD and the University of Mary in Bismarck.
Clarissa has always made radio a part of her weekends and summers while teaching during the school year. Clarissa and her husband, Tom, who is an Ag salesman for Butler Machinery Company, enjoy family, friends, Clarissa's old '67 Chevy, Tom's Harley, German cooking, and lots of dancing and music, music, music....!
