MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ A South Dakota man faces federal charges in two Twin Cities bank robberies early this year.
Forty-four-year-old William Roy St. John of Sisseton, South Dakota was indicted on two counts of bank robbery. The indictment was unsealed after St. John's initial court appearance earlier this week.
The indictment alleges St. John stole about $3,800 from a US Bank in Bloomington, Minnesota on January 2nd. Two days later, St. John is accused of stealing about $5,500 from a Wells Fargo Bank in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
Prosecutors say surveillance images from both banks determined the suspect was the same man.
St. John was arrested January 7th in Bloomington after several unsuccessful home invasions, carjackings, kidnappings and auto thefts.
He also is wanted on a federal warrant out of North Dakota for violation of supervised release.
