GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) _ Grand Forks residents are putting out less trash for the city's annual spring cleanup week.
The program allows people to put out furniture, appliances, brush and other items that normally wouldn't be collected during weekly trash pickups.
783 tons of refuse were collected during the spring cleanup week. That's 11 percent less than city workers picked up last year.
Grand Forks residents were also invited to bring old televisions, computer monitors and other electronics for recycling earlier this month. People brought more than 14 tons of electronics for recycling.
