GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) _ A two-day conference in Grand Forks this week is focusing on military and commercial uses for unmanned aerial systems, commonly known as drones.
The theme of the conference Tuesday and Wednesday at the Alerus Center is ``From Battle Field to Farm Field.'' It's being sponsored by the city of Grand Forks, the University of North Dakota and the Red River Valley Research Corridor. Officials with the federal Aviation Administration and the military are scheduled to speak.
More than 450 people attended the conference last year.
UND has a center for UAS research and training. Drones also operate out of Grand Forks Air Force Base.
