An Iraq war veteran who was accused of going
on a suicidal rampage in North Dakota two years ago faces a new
charge of aggravated reckless driving.
The misdemeanor charge against Brock Savelkoul of Fargo stems
from a June 24 Minot traffic crash that injured a woman and a girl.
Savelkoul also was injured.
Savelkoul did not immediately respond to an Associated Press
request for comment.
Savelkoul was medically discharged from the Army in 2009 with
post-traumatic stress disorder and a brain injury. He was accused
in September 2010 of leading police on a high-speed chase and
threatening a person in a Watford City convenience store with guns.
He reached an agreement with prosecutors in which three felony
charges against him were dropped under several conditions,
including mental health counseling.
