One of three family members from Bakersfield,
Calif., accused of supplying methamphetamine to buyers in North
Dakota and Minnesota plans to change his plea.
Henry Paredez Jr. and his wife, Ariana Paredez, are charged in
federal court in Fargo with three counts, including conspiracy to
possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Henry
Paredez Sr. is charged with one count of money laundering. All
three have pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say the conspiracy involved more than 500 grams of
meth. Henry Paredez Jr. is alleged to be the supervisor of the
operation, which moved the drugs into North Dakota through various
packing and shipping companies.
The lawyer for Henry Paredez Sr. filed noticed Wednesday for a
change of plea hearing.
