The presidents of most of North Dakota's
11 public colleges are getting 3 percent pay increases.
The exception is Williston State College. Williston President
Ray Nadolny got a 6 percent pay increase.
North Dakota's Board of Higher Education approved the increases
Thursday at its meeting at Bismarck State College.
The pay raises are in line with what was given to North Dakota
state government workers on July 1.
Higher Education President Duaine Espegard says Nadolny deserves a larger pay increase because
of the challenges of managing a two-year college in western North
Dakota's booming oil region.
Espegard says Nadolny has had to grapple with large employee
turnover ratings and problems obtaining housing for Williston State
College workers.
The pay increases are retroactive to July 1.
