The North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame will

have three new members after this weekend.

Former major league baseball players Darin Erstad and Rick

Helling and legendary high school basketball coach Ed Beyer are

being inducted into the hall in Jamestown during a banquet

Saturday.

Erstad played outfield and first base in the majors for 14

years, for the Los Angeles Angels and two other teams. During his

career he was an all-star, a gold glove winner and a World Series

champion.

Helling pitched 13 years for five teams. He won 20 games with

the Texas Rangers in 1998, and won two World Series rings with the

Florida Marlins.

Beyer coached the Hillsboro boys' basketball team for nearly

four decades, retiring as the winningest boys' coach in North

Dakota history.
