A North Dakota State University alumnus has

donated $1 million to the NDSU Development Foundation.

The university plans to name the NDSU Alumni Center after Harry

McGovern to recognize the gift.

McGovern graduated from high school in the town of Erie in 1962

and earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from NDSU four

years later. He now owns MCM Construction Inc., a bridge and

highway contractor with offices in the California cities of

Sacramento and Los Angeles.
