GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) _ Snowplow drivers say they're ready as
the first snowstorm of the season hits the Red River Valley in
eastern North Dakota.
The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning
for northeastern North Dakota, with 6-12 inches of snow expected.
Forecasters say wind gusting up to 45 mph will blow the snow
around, producing near-blizzard conditions in some areas and making
travel hazardous.
City and state road crews spent Wednesday getting their
equipment ready for the early snow. Chris Myhre with the state
Transportation Department says that crews are prepared
``no matter what comes.''
Parts of central North Dakota are under a winter weather
advisory. On Wednesday, as much as 3 { inches of snow fell in
western North Dakota.
