GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) _ Area law-enforcement officers are set
to beef up drunken driving patrols in northeast North Dakota.
More officers will be assigned to patrol city and rural roads, as well
as state highways, beginning Oct. 12.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 45 percent of fatalities on
the state's roadways were related to alcohol. In 2011, there were
about 6,200 drunken driving arrests in the state.
