MANDAN, N.D. (AP) _ U.S. Sen.-elect Heidi Heitkamp is naming her
chief of staff.
Heitkamp announced Saturday that Tessa Gould will be the chief
advisor for the new senator.
Gould managed Heitkamp's successful campaign to win the senate
seat. Before that, Gould served as associate development director
for the University of South Dakota Foundation.
Gould was chief of staff to former Rep. Stephanie Herseth
Sandlin in South Dakota. She has also worked with Congressman Earl
Pomeroy and Senator Byron L. Dorgan, both from North Dakota, and
House Leader Dick Gephardt from Missouri.
Gould says in a news release that she is humbled and honored to
be asked to go to Washington to work for Heitkamp.
