NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) _ An FBI spokesman says authorities do not believe there is any threat to the public in the wake of the shooting deaths of a woman and her three grandchildren in the Fort Berthold Reservation community of New Town on Sunday.
Kyle Loven (LOH-vuhn) won't say whether a suspect might be in custody or might be dead, citing the ongoing investigation. Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson says a New Town man who killed himself with a knife in Parshall on Sunday is considered a person of interest in the shootings.
Halvorson also says there is no known danger to the public.
The five bodies are being brought to Bismarck for autopsies.
Classes were called off at the New Town school on Monday because of the shootings.
