ARTHUR, N.D. (AP) _ Residents who noticed a house burning in
Arthur rescued a 20-year-old man from the home before it was
heavily damaged in a fire.
Arthur Volunteer Fire Department Chief Casey Zieske says that the witnesses went into the house
Thursday afternoon before authorities arrived and rescued the man,
who was asleep on the couch. He was not injured.
The man is the son of the house's owner, who was not home at the
time.
Zieske says the house is ``pretty much gone'' and was heavily
damaged. The detached garage was untouched.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears to have started
in the basement.
