BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ North Dakota's Game and Fish Department

says no injury accidents were reported in the state during this

year's deer gun hunting season.

Last year there were five hunting-related incidents reported,

with two fatalities.

Game and Fish hunter education coordinator Zach Peterson says that more advertisements about

safety and less hunting pressure were big reasons for the drop in

the number of accidents. Because of a decline in the deer

population only about 65,000 licenses were made available, 40

percent fewer than last year.

The season lasted about two weeks. It opened Nov. 9 and closed

on Sunday.
