MINOT, N.D. (AP) _ The city of Minot is getting federal grant money to shore up its sanitary sewer system. Minot is getting more than $574,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to buy and install six emergency generators at lift stations within the city. FEMA says the backup generators will minimize the impacts of power outages at the lift stations, which serve about 8,100 homes. The FEMA grant will pay 75 percent of the $766,000 project. The city and state are picking up the rest of the cost.
