FARGO, N.D. (AP) _ More than 50 enrolled members of tribes in South Dakota and North Dakota will be walking in President Barack Obama's inauguration parade later this month.
55 people representing the Three Affiliated Tribes of Fort Berthold, the Spirit Lake Nation, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa will walk in the January 21st parade.
Prairie Rose Seminole is helping organize the local tribes in the walk. She says she received a call when parade organizers realized it didn't have a delegation from North Dakota.
She says the participants range from 7-year-olds to veterans. Some plan to walk in traditional attire.
The group will participate in other inauguration events and also tour historical sites while in Washington.
