BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ A North Dakota National Guard unit has been honored for service in Kosovo.

Governor Jack Dalrymple (DAHL'-rimp-ul) and state Guard commander Major General David Sprynczynatyk (sprihn-suh-NAT'-ihk) were among the speakers at Sunday's ceremony in Bismarck for 55 soldiers with the 1st Battalion of the 112th Aviation Regiment.

The soldiers mobilized in September 2011 in support of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. They returned home last September.

Dalrymple says citizens owe the soldiers, their families and their employers ``a debt of gratitude for their service and sacrifice.''
