BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ The North Dakota Legislature's 94-member House chamber has gotten closer-knit this year with the election of Ben Koppelman, who is making his political debut alongside his father, Rep. Kim Koppelman.
Both Koppelmans are Republicans from West Fargo _ with the younger man representing a newly drawn district created because the city has grown by 73 percent in the past decade.
The men join another longtime father-son duo, Democrats Jerry Kelsh, of Fullerton, and his son, Scot Kelsh, of Fargo.
Kim Koppelman says the double duos illustrate just how small North Dakota can be.
While the Kelsh family has been involved in North Dakota politics for decades, it's unclear if Ben Koppleman's children will follow the path blazed by their grandfather. They're just 10 and 6 years old..
