BUCYRUS, N.D. (AP) _ A benefit fund that raised $180,000 has been awarded to residents of a North Dakota town that was devastated by wildfire.

Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union set up the fund for victims of the October blaze that swept through Bucyrus (boo-CY'-ruhs), located near the North and South Dakota border. The fire destroyed four homes in the town of 27 people.

The fund included a grant of $40,000 from Lutheran Social Services disaster relief.

Bonnie Lueck, manager of the credit union, said that the money can't replace everything, but it will residents ``get back on their feet.''

The fire covered more than 9 square miles and destroyed 24 structures.
