LISBON, N.D. (AP) _ A judge is deciding whether there's enough evidence to proceed with a murder trial in the case of a Fort Ransom woman accused in the death of her toddler son.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jodi Lindvall had a preliminary hearing Thursday on charges of murder and child abuse in the Sept. 22 death of 22-month-old Bentley Lindvall. Judge Jay Schmitz will issue a ruling later on whether the case moves forward.
Prosecutors say an autopsy determined the boy had been physically abused and died of a head injury. Court documents indicate Lindvall told authorities her son hit his head while she was struggling to change his diaper, and that she also had seen her live-in boyfriend shake the boy. The boyfriend has not been charged.
Lindvall could face life in prison if convicted.
