GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) _ A North Dakota woman is accused of lying to investigators about a stabbing on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.

Chantel Monteith, of Grand Forks, is charged in federal court with false statements. She has pleaded guilty.

Authorities say the 24-year-old Monteith claimed that the victim was stabbed by an unknown assailant during the May 2011 incident, when she knew what happened.

A trial date has not been scheduled.
