BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ North Dakota's Senate has approved a measure that funds military caskets for needy veterans.
The measure allocates $50,000 for the military caskets over the next two years.
The Senate passed the measure 28-18 on Wednesday. The measure now goes to the House for review.
Supporters of the measure say the aim is to give needy veterans a military casket instead of a so-called welfare casket, which can be made from cardboard or other inexpensive materials.
