BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ The state Board of Higher Education will meet in May to discuss allegations made against Chancellor Hamid Shirvani.

The board will meet to discuss alleged violations of the state's open meetings and open records laws and possible violations of state Board of Higher Education policy.

The decision to meet came up Thursday during a board meeting at Bismarck State College.

Student representative Sydney Hull requested the meeting following information he says he received from current and former North Dakota University system employees.

Board President Duane Espegard says the board will examine each allegation during the May meeting.
