FARGO, N.D. (AP) _ An annual charity auction in Fargo that helps raise money for the Roger Maris Cancer Center was targeted by thieves this year.
Officials say more than 100 items were taken from a storage facility earlier this month. A majority of them were baseballs autographed by Hall of Famers.
A scaled-back auction was still held over the weekend.
The auction is part of the annual Roger Maris Celebrity Golf Tournament. It's named in honor of the late New York Yankees great who grew up in Fargo and benefits the cancer center, Hospice of the Red River Valley and Shanley High School.
