JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) _ Sanborn officials are considering their options after an explosion destroyed the fireworks that were to be used for the city's Fourth of July display.
Sanborn Fire Department member Mike Griffen says the fireworks that exploded in a storage building Thursday were valued at about $3,000.
The southeast North Dakota City has fewer than 200 residents.
The fireworks magazine used by the Sanborn Fire Department was located at a farm owned by Jim Greshik. The magazine is a specially designed building for the storage of explosives or ammunition.
Greshik says no one was home at the time of the explosion. He says the damage was limited to the fireworks storage magazine and its contents.
Officials say the cause of the explosion is under investigation.
