SANBORN, N.D. (AP) _ Officials are still trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed $3,000 worth of fireworks in a storage bunker on a farm near the southeastern North Dakota town of Sanborn. But the town's show will go on.
The blast happened last Thursday. No one was hurt. Volunteer firefighters tell The Forum newspaper that they plan to replace the fireworks and stage the Fourth of July show as planned.
Fire Chief Tim Lyter says the show will not be quite as big as planned, but the fireworks supplier should be able to replace nearly all of what was lost.
The town west of Valley City has only about 200 residents, but The Jamestown Sun reports that hundreds of people travel from the surrounding area to see the annual show.
